The Verdict: A Gorgeous Stay That Needed More Consistent Polish
With an overall StayIQ score of 87%, Room 936 offered superb comfort, beautiful design, excellent cleanliness and a memorable setting. The property looked every inch the luxury resort, but the service did not always keep pace with the scenery or the price. Rosewood Baha Mar came close to delivering paradise; it simply needed everyone on the service team to arrive there at the same time
Room 936 delivered an exceptionally comfortable night’s sleep. The linens were crisp, the mattress struck the perfect balance between supportive and plush, and the pillows—once they arrived—were excellent. Unfortunately, obtaining additional pillows required several calls and nearly two hours, making bedtime feel more like a test of perseverance than a Rosewood ritual.
The room was spotless, stylish and remarkably quiet, with a superb view that provided exactly the kind of scenery one hopes to find in Nassau. The layout and workspace were functional, though not flawless, while the minibar was nicely stocked. The main weakness was the HVAC system, which struggled to keep paradise at a comfortable temperature. Limited outlets and uneven room-service performance also kept an otherwise impressive room from earning a perfect score.
The bathroom was immaculate, with plentiful plush towels, consistently hot water and strong water pressure. The amenities were adequate rather than memorable—a surprising restraint in a hotel where the surroundings rarely practice understatement—but the overall experience remained luxurious and well maintained.
The Rosewood Baha Mar makes a magnificent first impression. Its lobby is striking, its location is exceptional, and the entire property carries an elegant, polished style. The restaurants, bars and fitness facilities were also strong, although the Wi-Fi and business conveniences were merely average.
Service, however, was inconsistent. When it was good, it was very good: warm, polished and worthy of the Rosewood name. At other times, it seemed to have wandered off in search of a beach chair. Poolside service was essentially nonexistent on several days, and the prolonged pillow delivery was particularly surprising given Rosewood’s reputation—and nightly rates approaching $1,500.
